Kids OT Works offer a range of Occupational Therapy services for children and young people. We see children with a wide range of conditions and needs. We can see you at home or at school, dependent upon which is best for you and your child. We aim to help you and your child better understand their challenges and how best these can be met.

Services provided include:

Assessment

Our focus is on daily occupation and so we offer a comprehensive assessment which includes neurological and sensory assessments, gross and fine motor skills, handwriting, self-care and visual perceptual skills. Our assessments are individually tailored to meet the needs of the child or young person.

Reports

Following assessment, a detailed written report is provided. The report can be used as a second opinion, as a written document for future reference or as part of supportive evidence for a tribunal or medico-legal case.

Treatment

We are able to treat a variety of difficulties and conditions aimed to improve occupational performance in everyday tasks. Treatments include providing sensory integration therapy, fine and gross motor therapy, intervention to improve handwriting skills. We can offer these treatments at home or in school on a one to one or group basis.

Environmental adaptation and Specialist equipment

Kids OT Works are able to provide comprehensive assessment of home, school and community environments and make recommendations to enable access and reduce risk. We are able to assess for specialist equipment and make recommendations to best meet the needs of the child/young person and their family. Equipment includes, seating and postural equipment, buggies, wheelchairs, splints, hoists and slings as well as beds, and bathing /showering equipment.

Consultancy

We offer a consultancy service for insurers, schools, parents, case workers and solicitors. Our consultancy service offers options and recommendations regarding the health of an individual. Kids OT Works provide in-depth assessments; follow up reports and further recommendations for individual cases in schools.

Carer and Teacher Training

Kids OT works provide training to carers and teachers across a range of common difficulties for children and young people, including postural management, moving and handling, sensory processing, handwriting and co-ordination difficulties
